Therapy for Individuals

Counselling and psychotherapy have something to offer everyone. It may be for personal growth and understanding, or, it may be at a time when situations or feelings become too difficult or complex to cope with alone.

You may, for example, be coping with grief or feelings of unhappiness or anxiety. You may lack confidence, have sexual difficulties or problems with anger.

Counselling and psychotherapy can help you to understand the way you experience the world by exploring your feelings and enabling you to gain insight into your behaviour. Working together we can facilitate positive change and create a sense of personal awareness and equilibrium.

We provide an out-of-county resource for professionals.

Couples

Suitable for:

Couples of all kinds, whether heterosexual, gay or in a close relationship.

Couples who want to develop, grow or re-evaluate their relationship together.

Couples where one or both want to separate or think about the issues around separation.

Children & Young People

Children from 5 years and young people are seen by dedicated specialists. An assessment is undertaken in consultation with the appropriate adult. Referrals are accepted from parents, GP's, schools, social services and other professional agencies. Young people of all ages are seen at The Centre.

Families

Family therapy is based on the idea that if one person or more is experiencing difficulties then everyone in the family maybe affected. In turn, the ideas, beliefs and responses of family members affect each individual. Family therapy focuses on how we behave and think about ourselves in relation to others.

Family therapy can be helpful at times of:

Transition and change
Bereavement and loss
Communication difficulties
Conflict within the family
Crisis affecting family members
