Supervision and Consultation

The Centre in Hereford offers a supervision and consultation service not only for Psychotherapists and Counsellors but also for other health professionals, psychologists, social workers, clergy and those who work within business.

The Centre Counsellors and Psychotherapists employ various approaches to help others gain greater psychological understanding of what is going on in their workplace and what their own part might be in it. They bring their own training and experience including their analytic psychodynamic, systemic and humanistic approaches to this work.

Our supervision and consultation service can be accessed through our usual contacts.

 

Health insurance referrals – psychiatric consultations.

The Centre has psychotherapists and counsellors who are able to take health insurance referrals.

The clinic also is able to refer as necessary to our Psychiatric consultants Dr Aveline and Dr Pokorny.

 

Assisting Employees

The Centre offers to Employers both in and out of county a service of Psychological Assessment and five clinical counselling sessions for a fee of £250.

 

Out of county resource for professionals

It is often useful for individual professionals from neighbouring counties to be able to seek counselling, psychotherapy, supervision or consultation away from their work place or population for whom they are responsible. Individuals from Gloucestershire, Monmouth, Powys, Shropshire and Worcestershire work with Counsellors and Psychotherapists from The Centre. Professions such as doctors, teachers, social workers, local authority managers, members of the fire brigade, police and forces might find this resource particularly useful.

Businesses & Organisations

The Centre can help you deliver the now legal requirement of offering your staff the Duty of Care expected in this modern world. We have members who can work with organisations where there are difficulties to move towards resolution when there may be hindrances towards goals - at any level, Directors to administration. We can offer group facilitation for managing stress and trauma (for example, floods last summer meant relocation for offices and staff - causing a lot of unforeseen distress). We can work with bullying and harassment whether perceived or actual, as well as with those who bring personal problems into the workplace. Also, we can work with employee conflict.

We offer Coaching, Mentoring and Consultation for professionals for Career Development, Listening Skills courses and Training opportunities.

We are the most competent and well trained group in Hereford with many years of experience working with business through Employment Assisted Programmes and the NHS. We are Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Psychiatrists. We offer all the therapies within the government's NICE recommendations. We ALWAYS conduct an assessment to confirm the therapy is appropriate to an individual's needs.

We also cover BUPA and other private insurance schemes.
