I have over twenty years' experience of working therapeutically with children, adolescents and adults. I initially qualified as a children and families social worker and worked as a Systemic Family Therapist and Gestalt Play Therapist with abused children. Later, I furthered my training to include psychological therapies and have since worked in private practice. I specialise in working with the Police and Armed Forces. I have worked in a variety of settings including Family Services Units and schools.

I specialise in the therapeutic treatment of trauma and stress management and also provide consultancy and training for professionals and students on domestic violence, abuse and stress management.

I am qualified as an EMDR Europe Approved Practitioner and am a member of the EMDR UK & Ireland Association.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a specialist therapeutic technique that is recommended by the NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) guidelines (2004) as one of the most effective and rapid treatments for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. It is also extremely successful with many other difficulties including anxiety and phobias.
